Imprint

In this series ‘imprint’,  I explore the spaces where people are no longer present but still visible by the marks they left behind. The interaction has ended but the remains are still there. People who, out of fear for change, have left everything in their designated space. Throughout their entire life.

This series is shot in my hometown, a tiny city in the east of the Netherlands, close to the German border. It shows in all aspects the flip-side of the Dutch. Not the well-known city-life nor the historic icons. It faces the other side of the Dutch, the traditional, conservative part. A life in which change is almost non-existent. Even to the extent that the people have left but what still remains are their highly distinctive imprints in time.
